Job Summary

Our exciting business is looking to hire a project manager to oversee larger project work in the industry we operate in.  We’re searching for a person that will take a project from inception to delivering the job on time and on budget.  The applicant should have a background in both project management and experience in the overhead crane industry with professional outlook and excellent communication skills.


Main Duties and Responsibilities            

  • Arrange project launch meetings with Internal resource & customers
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with the customer
  • Develop and issue project timing plans with resource in mind
  • To control and co-ordinate engineers suitable for job type
  • Troubleshoot problems that arise during projects
  • Manage project costs and timing plans against the estimate and troubleshoot any overspend concerns
  • Hold regular meetings to review the performance of projects to maximise project output in line with budget
  • Appraise and authorise purchasing with suppliers considering quality and value
  • Health & Safety objectives must be satisfied at all times
  • Identify potential variations to contract and to negotiate additional costs with the customer when required to do so
  • Create technical files for SCE engineers containing the following:-
  • In-depth RAMS
  • In-depth Lifting plans
  • Electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Engineers qualifications
  • Datasheets for the components used
  • Adhere to quality control objectives


Key Skills/Experience

  • Experience of handling and successfully delivering projects up to a value of £500,000
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • To have a detailed knowledge of Electric Travelling Overhead cranes and associated systems used on cranes such as inverter controls, load indicating equipment & radio control systems etc
  • To have the ability to manage and motivate staff
  • Excellent Communication Skills at all levels
  • Effective problem solving skills
